Antique English Wax Doll, Montanari, Original Box w Family Notation Paris Label
Antique wax doll with its original box. The box has a handwritten inscription by the family that is dated with 1891. This sweet doll is most likely attributed to Montanari. It is an English poured wax doll with wax limbs and a cloth body. She measures approximately 15 inches long. She has set blue glass eyes. She has inset human hair. She is wearing beautiful antique clothing including an antique extra long Christening gown, a antique cotton Christening length petticoat, an antique wool flannel Christening length petticoat with matching camisole, antique pink booties and a beautiful antique lace trimmed bonnet. The box is in frail condition and it is made of carton with a light wood frame. The lid is inscribed in ink with a family handwritten inscription with the date 1891. The end of the box has a partial label with Paris printed on it. This doll is 19th century. She is extra special and "oh so sweet." Do not miss adding to your collection!
